One of my favorites

I bought this one in one of my first cactus orders a year ago. It turns out in my second order I bought the next one CA put up as well. Normally I would like to diversify, but looking back I am happy it worked out that way. The tag was marked 'JS91', which means this 'appears' to be an early accession. I appreciate CA for knowing good genetics and this HOBBYGARDNER guy was some cactus breeder. The plant grows relatively fast. Since I had two large cuts in different soil, I can say it does better in a middle between bridge (40% mineral) and pach (30% mineral) soil. Or for your growing environment, go just a bit more mineral than your pachanoi requires.

Some other observations, the Peru on the metal tag was listed as otj peru, which I suppose means the peru contribution was an Of the Jungle Peru plant (and helps differentiate this from JS227). CA has three other similar clones, JS228 long, JS228 short and JS227. While this plant (JS91) seems to resemble JS227 the most, I would like to someday get a sample and compare. From photos here, it appears JS91 and JS227 share a similar supination and a glaucus. Althea, Peru2 and Sharxx have a nice glaucus, like frosted glass. This plant JS91 can acquire (indoor grow) a glaucus that appears to be an internal glow, like a piece of turquoise alabaster. (again wish I could upload photo)
