This huanu came from an ebay seller in Southern California named Jessica and was listed as a bridge. 

One of the cuttings I received was 39" and 27 lbs. Most spines cut off “for the safety of the children”. At the time there were several suggestions about the correct species but general consensus was that it was “not a bridge.”

In 12 years that 39” cutting has grown into my largest plant, now 18’ tall with about 17 tips.

All huanu cactus plants were originally introduced by Harry Johnson, affectionately known as ‘Papa Huan’. Papa Huan Johnson was well known for his Cactus Gardens nursery in Fallbrook, California and for producing the Paramount cactus hybrids.    

Our JS288 huanu plants are grown outdoors in Chico, California planted directly in the ground. They are grown without chemical inputs, grafting, or forced reproduction. The cactuses have reached a mature size and are propagated carefully to ensure they continue to flower each year.
