this one came to me from RS with a somewhat odd description that you can see in the photos

huanu Friedrich Ritter [that RS received] from [Keeper] Trout in 2000

generally all huanus are linked to Harry Johnson, a contemporary of Ritter

what is not known but I do wonder, is this a cutting of a cactus that Johnson gave to his friend and colleague Ritter and then that cactus found its way to Trout and RS and me and you?

Our huanu FR plant is grown outdoors in Chico, California planted directly in the ground. It is grown without chemical inputs, grafting, or forced reproduction. The cactus has reached a mature size and is propagated carefully to ensure it continues to flower each year.
