This is the non-monstrose TPM sold by California Cactus Center as T. peru. Like the monstrose clone, this one was given the nickname ‘short spine peru’ because it often shows only short spines. Eventually with older growth 2+” spines develop.
”Short spine peru” has become a generic term for any short spined peru, but originally that was a clone name for this plant.
Available from Altman Plants occasionally mixed in with the TPM. Probably the same as the plant known as Gator and probably Awful too.
Is it a revert from the standard TPM? Or is it sibling plant grown from the same seed that also produced the monstrose plant?
