After several weeks of days in the 70s F and no freezing nights in months I decided it was time to remove the greenhouse plastic and put up the shade cloth. Rain was almost as much of a concern as cold but there hadn't been any rain in a month and none in the forecast. Of course today I see that rain is now expected on Wednesday.
This is my first year with this greenhouse and the first time I've removed the plastic. It went very smoothly.
I'm going to need to figure out how to take better care of my pereskiopsis over winter!
Here's everything that's currently rooting. If I do get rain this week I'll need to pull everything up and put them back in dry rooting media. Usually I use my regular cactus potting mix to root in but you can see I ran out of dry mix and switched to straight perlite.
I also got some planting done. These are all very freshly rooted so they needed support poles. The poles will be removed later this year.
I hoped to get these planted too but ran out of time.
